Clogged Garbage Disposal
Do you have a clogged garbage disposal? If it’s draining very slowly or not all, that’s your problem. Don’t panic, fixing the clog is easy.
WARNING! – Don’t use any chemical drain cleaners as they will damage your garbage disposal!
First, remove the bolts at the discharge line.
Insert the auger’s line into the outlet pipe leading into the wall, through the opening of the removed trap. Send the cable into the pipe by cranking the handle on the auger. Keep sending in the cable until you’ve reached the obstruction. Apply extra force as needed to push through the blockage. Reel in your cable and set it aside.
Reinstall your trap, and connect the discharge line and bolt it down. Make sure you tighten down the trap on the other end so it doesn’t leak later on.
Run some water down the drain and make sure it’s not clogging up again. Also make sure that you don’t have any leaks coming from the lines you removed earlier, be sure to check while you have the water running.
Congrats, you’ve just fixed your clogged garbage disposal.
